He Counts the Number of the Stars!

March 26, 2010

“He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and might in power; His understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147: 4, 5

I read some exciting news on www.foxnews.com this week. Here is an excerpt from that article, which is titled “Billions of Stars Found in Distant Heavens.”

The United States wants everyone to stand up and be counted in the 2010 census, but meanwhile many galaxies have been undercounted in their own celestial census.

It turns out that about 90 percent of distant galaxies do not show up in a commonly used galaxy survey method, a new study has found.

“If there are 10 galaxies seen, there could be a hundred there,” said study leader Matthew Hayes of the Observatory of the University of Geneva in Switzerland.”

Isn’t that beautiful? Our Creator God not only created billions of stars that man hasn’t even discovered yet, but He also “CALLS THEM ALL BY NAME”!!! Not only is that mind-boggling, but to think that He is Our Creator, Our God, Our FATHER! And He knows our name also! There is a very touching song titled “He Knows My Name” that you can hear on www.youtube.com.  Please take the time to listen to it. The version by the Maranatha Singers just makes me want to praise God over and over again – because He is my Father! Here are the lyrics.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
