My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding.” (Proverbs 5:1)

Following that plea, we read a description of the ugliness of sin and instructions for obedience. While Solomon is referring specifically to the sin of adultery, all sin can be described with the same words he used: bitter, two-edged sword, death, hell, the cruel one, mourn, total ruin, entrap, caught, die, go astray…

The same principle applies to every scenario where sin is offered. Pay attention to the wisdom offered by a very wise king and concerned parent: RUN from temptation!

Prayer: Father, please help us pay attention to Your wisdom; to recognize temptation and to RUN – fast and hard – from it! Amen.

  1. Peg says:

In running from temptation and sin, you are a winner! Thanks for your post.
