The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.” Proverbs 11:25

While these verses may have been written in the context of material or monetary generosity, the principle that King Solomon wrote can be applied to all areas. For example:

  • If we generously show mercy, we will receive mercy.
  • The more people we reach out to in friendship, the more friends we will have.
  • Lending a helping hand comes back in the form of help when we need it.
  • And the list can go on and on.

God’s principle is this: our generosity bounces back to us.

It doesn’t matter if we are wealthy or not. Generosity isn’t just giving money away. When we are generous in supplying for other’s needs in any area, our needs will be met. That’s God’s principle, and we can bank on it!

Prayer: Lord, give us a generous heart and open hands when we see the needs of others. Amen!

  1. Peg says:

“give and it shall be given unto you!” This is so true in many,, many ways.
